I hope everyone had a Happy New Year. I was feeling so good that me and my husband planned a trip to El Paso in search of some NYE nightlife. I spent all night dancing and according to my watch I walked 6.5 miles. The most I’ve walked by far, since the surgery. It did come with a price. I was very sore the next day. Since I was drinking I didn’t take any of my medication so I woke up very sore (muscle soreness) and numbness in my feet. I ended up taking my GABA and NSAID for the pain and within the hour came immediate relief. It has been 2 days since NYE and I feel great. I ran out of the NSAID and am not feeling any more nerve pain. I guess it is just on the occasion that I over do it. I think I will able to drive to the gym and start walking 3 miles a day. I will start tomorrow. I am able to sit without any pain, though I still get up and walk around every hour or so. I feel that I have my life back. I am still not doing any excessive bending or lifting. I still need to respect the healing process but wow am I ever so thankful to feel this good. I ordered some scar cream as well for the scar that is healing. It doesn’t look that nice but it just needs more time. The scar is about an inch tall toward the left side of my back about 3 inches above my butt. Most of the glue has come off and is still very itchy. I’ve had 3 surgeries within a year. I’m ready to lead a healthier lifestyle. I will be starting a health section on the blog to capture my progress. See you there!
